Overcoming the career-caregiving catch-22 shaped my path as both a professional woman and a mother. I postponed starting a family to advance in law, adopted my daughter at 44, and later fought the health insurance system and gender biases to secure an autism diagnosis and care for her. During the pandemic, I reinvented my career to balance financial stability with full-time caregiving, an experience that deepened my empathy for women making impossible choices between career survival and family needs.
